Frank Denton - The Rogue Raven

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

What you have here is an old guy. In education for 30 years, started teaching elementary, ended as library and media director of community college. I've enjoyed mountain climbing, sports car rallying, was pipe major of a bagpipe band, played guitar and sang during the folk revival, walking and hiking later in life. Now fairly sedentary. Enjoy reading, esp. mysteries and fantasy, but my reading is pretty eclectic. Enjoy movies, giving Netflix a workout.

So Long For Awhile: This is the last blog I’ll write for awhile. Tomorrow morning my wife and I are off on a long odyssey. Eventually we need to be in Toronto for a convention but we have five weeks to get there. So we are going to wander south, then north through Idaho and Montana and into Canada, back into Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan before reaching our destination. After the convention is over, we will head south to Washington, D.C. to see the new National Museum of the American Indian, then head back west. We intend to stop in Kentucky to see blue grass country and find some thoroughbred horses. I always wanted to be a race horse owner. We intend to reach home sometime in early November.

I know that I could take my laptop and write blogs along the way but I choose not to. Well, I’ll take the laptop. But I won’t write blogs and send them while I’m on the road. Some folks would. This has been the first long trip since 2000 and I intend to enjoy it without worrying that I need to write a blog. So you can expect me to pick up again when I return home. And while I’m gone...don’t miss me too much.
